A couple of months back, I made a video with Sara in space dancing this dance, the camera I found, although fine, was dancing more than she was LOL.
So a request was made of me to see if I could "camera lock" and focus on just Sara dancing, so began my challenge...
its possible to easily lock the camera to a character, character parts or objects in every other program... except HS2... of course lol.
A little insight into hs2 for people that are interested... this was completely discovered by accident through trial and error, 1st i tried literally parenting the camera to the character, HS2 says no.
Then i tried to utilize the route system... the camera easily parent to the route system... but uh... the route system is very linear lines, the amount of fine tuning and hand making points (it would need 100s of points lol) the camera to get to, at the same speed as Sara during the dance was impossible...
I then tried adding invisible objects attached to Sara, and have the Camera parent to that but the camera only like parenting to the route system and that's it (route system is a good parent apparently lol)
so then... I was mucking around with the POV mod, a little idea of... "hmm what would it look like from the girl's perspective dancing say... sexy mi... in a mirror" kind of video (is interesting if you guys want a video like that let me know lol) and as i was tweaking settings i noticed in the mod setting for pov x mod (f1) there was a LOCK key bind so interested about what that did... i pressed it...
it only works when in POV mode and it focusses on a selected characters face and has the camera follow that... so i added another character to the scene and hid them. One character was in POV mode, the other, Sara, is dancing... with Sara selected i pressed the lock on key bind while in pov view in the 1st character and the camera followed Sara... but only her face...
another issue arose however... I could get more of Sara in the shot... moving her away made her too small in the shot... moving closer the pov just looked up at her face there was too much head room the camera was either too high or too low... :'(
so while sitting there thinking and watching Sara loop this dance and shake around it hit me....
a third character... hidden, dancing the same dance lock onto the invisible character and move that hidden character face to Sara chest area and well... the above video is the result!
I hope you guys like it, and another request sort of done, the space ship from the space video had disappeared from existence so i couldn't 'remake' space cadet Sara :'(
